Acme21 is an innovative start-up founded in Faenza in 2017, engaged in the development of projects dedicated to the protection of pollinating insects and in the spread of urban beekeeping as a tool for the transition towards more sustainable cities. The company, through its “Beeing” marketplace, has launched “B-BOX” on the market: the hive with an innovative design created for urban beekeeping. This type of city hive allows man to collect honey in extreme safety – without coming into contact with bees – and allows them to live in a safe environment, free from the forms of chemical pollution typical of agriculture intensive. Each hive is equipped with a Smart IoT device – installed inside – which provides information to beekeepers, farmers and companies in the agro-tech sector, promoting real-time monitoring of the health status of the bees and the air quality in a radius of 5km from the hive. Furthermore, to allow all users to take care of bees in complete autonomy, the start-up offers online video training courses held by beekeepers who are part of the Beeing certified network and supports each new urban beekeeper with a local beekeeper expert. Training, in fact, is a fundamental element in becoming a beekeeper and must be undertaken before starting the business.
In 2022 Acme21 participated in the Call Get it! For Lacittàintorno: a call promoted by Fondazione Cariplo, with the support of FSVGDA and Cariplo Factory, with the aim of encouraging the birth and development of new entrepreneurial realities with social impact in the food and slow mobility areas, already active or to be implemented in the the Corvetto-Chiaravalle area. After completing an incubation, acceleration and mentorship journey, it was awarded “Best Start-up For Impact” at the Investor Day of Get it! For Lacittàintorno with an investment of €80,000 to support its growth by Fondazione Social Venture Giordano Dell’Amore, strategic and operational arm of the Fondazione Cariplo in the field of impact investing.
